In celebration of Deaf Awareness Month, Marlee Matlin joins Illinois Libraries Present to share the highs and lows of her Hollywood career and journeys as an activist. The youngest recipient of the Best Actress Oscar, Matlin’s acting career recently achieved another milestone as her 2021 film CODA swept every category it was nominated in at the 2022 Academy Awards.

Beginning, February 28, masks recommended but not required.

Open to ages 1-4 (with a caregiver).

Babies, toddlers, and caregivers will enjoy short stories, songs, and free play after each session.

Please come dressed in your pajamas and bring along your favorite stuffed animal to listen to bedtime stories, create a craft and enjoy a late-night snack!

Pack a small picnic, a blanket to spread out on, and meet us at the park! Enjoy a special story time while you enjoy your lunch! Please note: Children must be accompanied by an adult.  This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

The library is OPEN during the Alley Reconstruction Project.  Please be advised parking is limited and exiting the lot may be detoured due to the construction.

Pre-Teens and Teens are invited to join the library for an “indoor” beach party! Enjoy snacks, crafts, games, photo ops and more! Floral shirts and hula skirts encouraged
