Tot Stay & Play

(Ages 1-4 With a Caregiver)

Babies, toddlers and caregivers will enjoy short books and rhymes together.  Stay for 15 minutes of free play after each session at 11:00 a.m.

Thursday, December 6th – No registration required.

Edible Creations

(Ages 4-17, Limited to 15 participants)

Visit the library Wednesday, December 5th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and create some festive edible treats!

Registration begins November 14th.

Holiday Closing

The Library will be closed Thursday November 24 & Friday, November 25  in observance of Thanksgiving.

Family Reading Night

Family Reading Night is an annual statewide event held the third Thursday in November to encourage families to spend quality time reading together. In celebration, families are invited to join the Library on Thursday, November 15th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. for stories, activities, crafts & more.

International Games Week

(All Ages)

Come celebrate International Games Day at the library on Saturday, November 10th  from 1:00-2:30 p.m. and enjoy a variety of games! Board games, live action games and open video game play too. Bring your Nintendo DS and Pokemon games.

Day Of The Dead Celebration

(All Ages)

Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday that honors family and friends who have passed on.  Throughout the month of October, everyone is invited to contribute letters, drawings, and pictures in memory of friends, family and pets for our community Day of the Dead altar.  On Thursday, November 1st from 4:30-6:00 p.m. we will celebrate the altar along with pan de muertos (Day of the Dead bread), Mexican hot cocoa, stories and decorate a craft.

Say Boo & Scary On!

Don’t forget to stop at the library on Halloween Wednesday, October 31st from 3:00-7:00 p.m. for some Indoor trick-or-treating!  No registration required.

Halloween Howl

Come join us along with the Schiller Park Village and Recreation Department at the Annual Halloween Howl! The event will be held at Lincoln Middle School on Saturday, October 27th, from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.  The library will be presenting Halloween stories, a guessing jar and photos with the Great Pumpkin.

Hallo-Teen Party!

(Ages 11-17)

Teens and Tweens in costume or not are welcome to join our Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00-7:00 p.m.  We will have games, prizes, treats and more!

The party is limited to 25 teens!

Registration begins October 3rd.

The Schiller Park Public Library is excited to announce our NEW Collection of circulating STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Kits!

Each kit includes information and hands-on activities to experiment and explore STEM concepts at home.  Available for check-out Fall 2018!

The kits are made possible through a generous grant from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)-Chicago Section.
