Our goal is to work in cooperation with schools to meet the needs of students and educators. Library staff invites you to visit the library and become familiar with the types of materials available and the services offered to educators and students. The Children’s Department will be glad to assist with your informational needs.
Library cards have been issued to each school, and educators are encouraged to use their school’s card when making loans for classroom use. The Children’s Department will be happy to gather materials such as books and non-print items to be picked up or assist you to find them yourself. Teachers may borrow up to 25 books, for a 3-week loan, on a valid school library card.
Juvenile patrons (5-17 years) must apply in person and be present with a parent or legal guardian who must provide two pieces of legal identification with the parent or legal guardian’s current name and address. Both pieces of identification must have identical Schiller Park addresses. If the parent or legal guardian already has a Schiller Park Public Library card on file in current standing, they can provide the library card and one piece of legal identification which must have an identical address of the parent or legal guardian’s library card on file
Our 30-minute storytime for 2021-2022 via Zoom is great for younger students and designed to introduce children to the wonderful world of books and literacy. Please contact our Children’s Department about availability.
Each kit includes information and hands on activities to experiment and explore STEM concepts outside of the library. The kits check out for one week.
Educators may use the Assignment Alert Form, phone the library, fax, email, or visit the staff with information about short term assignments.
