The Schiller Park Public Library Building
OPEN for EXPRESS SERVICES ONLY
Beginning March 1, the Library building is open and operating under a new service model that promotes social distancing and limits capacity. We are thrilled to start this next phase of service, which provides direct access to the collections.
Express services such as:
Checking out material, returning material, applying for and renewing library cards, self-service photocopying and printing are all available.
Visits are limited to one hour per day – no extended stays.
Self-service computer use is by appointment only for 50 minute timeslots, limit ONE timeslot per day. Schiller Park residents 16 years and older can make an appointment to use a computer (phone 847-678-0433 for appointments). Reservations are first come, first serve and may be scheduled up to one week in advance. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.

What to Expect:
|During this reopening period we are implementing procedures to make the transition as safe as possible.|
|• While in the building, staff will be issued personal protective equipment including gloves, face coverings, and hand sanitizer.|
|•Plexiglas shields have been placed at all public service points.|
|•The number of patrons inside the building at one time will be limited.|
|•Patrons and staff over age two will be required to wear a mask that covers both nose and mouth while in the building. If you do not have one, a disposable mask will be provided.|
|•Social Distancing of 6 feet will be required. Social distancing markers have been placed on the floor throughout the library.|
|•No seating will be available except in Computer Lab for reserved usage.|
|• No food or drinks will be allowed and the water fountain will be unavailable.|
|•Children under the age of ten must be attended by a parent or caregiver older than 14 at all times while in the library.|
|•If a medical condition makes wearing a mask impossible, contact the Library to make accommodations such as Curbside Pickup.|
|•Toys, games and kits removed from the Children’s World.|
|•No study or meeting rooms will be open.|
|•Materials can now be returned inside the library or in the drive up book drop. The book drop will still be available 24/7.|
|•No book donations are accepted at this time.|
|•Effective Monday, April 12th, library materials will no longer be quarantined.|
|•Materials will be checked in and removed from patron accounts.|
|•Please do not attempt to disinfect materials before returning them.|
|•Please consider using our downloadable eBooks and audiobooks and other digital library resources.|
|•All equipment will be sanitized after each use.|
|•Patrons and staff exhibiting signs of illness or who do not feel well are asked not to enter the Library building at this time.|
|•Printing and photocopying are available but exact change is required, change will not be given. Faxing will not be available at this time.|
|•Paying for fines online is encouraged.|
|•Hand sanitizer is available for patrons. Gloves and masks will be provided upon request.|
|•Computer, photocopying, and printing are all self-service. Please refer to signage for instructions.|
